Our Top Ten Saskatchewan Golf Course Picks

Our golf course

While Saskatchewan may not have the longest golf season, we do have the most golf courses in Canada per capita. Fact: Saskatchewan has 288 golf courses for over 1.1 million people (globalnews.ca)!

Here’s a list of the ten top Saskatchewan golf spots that we think are worth the “drive” this summer, in no particular order:

1. Dakota Dunes Golf Links

Where: Saskatoon

Type: Public

Number of holes: 18 holes

Par: 72

Course length: 5,100 to 7,300 yards (five tee deck yardages to choose from)

Best known for: the natural sand dune formations, prairie grasses, and flora surrounding the course.

As of 2017, The PGA Canada tour will not be stopping Saskatoon’s Dakota Dunes course, breaking the nine-year streak. The silver lining here is that there is more time to go check out the course now!

2. Willows Golf and Country Club

Where: Saskatoon

Type: Public

Number of holes: 27 holes

Par: 71

Course length: 6,844 yards (four sets of tee boxes)

Best known for: their two 18 hole layouts: the 18 Lakes and the 18 Bridges/Xena.

The Willows previously had a whopping 36 holes but closed the Islands course to concentrate on maintaining the other courses.

3. Evergreen Golf Club

Where: Nipawin

Type: Public

Number of holes: 18 holes

Par: 72

Course length: 5,294-6,539 yards (three sets of tee boxes)

Best known for: having arguably the best greens in the province. The course has gentle hills, silica hazards, and is surrounded by a forest of jack pine and poplar trees.

If you feel like your swing needs a little help, the Evergreen Golf Club has PGA of Canada Golf Professionals that offer individual or group instruction.

4. Waskesiu Golf Club
